The Recruitment Process
Online applications for this Programme will open in late 2014.
If your online application is successful, you will be invited to complete the following steps in the selection process.
The recruitment process for the Engineering Trainee Programme encompasses three stages, as outlined below.
Phase 1 – Initial interview (30 minutes)
This is an opportunity to demonstrate your motivation, skills and passion. You’ll be asked a series of competency-based behavioural questions and technical engineering questions.
Phase 2 – Group discussion, and individual reasoning and written skills test
Over the course of one morning or afternoon, you’ll be asked to take an individual reasoning and written skills test. You will also participate in a team discussion with your peers, which will involve making recommendations based on a case study of a real engineering scenario.
Phase 3 – Presentation and final interview
You will be given one week to prepare a presentation on a topic set by Cathay Pacific Engineering, and then deliver it to a small management panel. Your presentation will be followed by a Q&A session and a final interview with senior managers.
You can expect to learn about the outcome of your application within two to three weeks of your final interview.
Please note that all interviews will be held at Cathay Pacific City, and that business attire is appropriate.
We suggest you prepare by thinking about the examples and experiences you can share to best demonstrate your skills, passion and motivation to start a career with Cathay Pacific Engineering.
